Quality Assurance Analyst – Fulltime … Toronto, ON

 

Quality Assurance Analyst

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

Type: Full Time

OLAP Vision is looking for an exceptional Quality Assurance Analyst to join us. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be tasked with assisting QA efforts of OLAP through the full lifecycle of development starting with requirements and continuing through the development and deployment/installation of the application. This will include creating/improving the QA process at OLAP as well as engaging the product team on all things related to quality.

Job Responsibilities

• Research latest test and quality assurance trends, processes, and technologies
• Define and implement test strategies, processes and automation
• Prepare Test Scenarios/Test Cases, Effort estimation, Test Plan, Test Strategy, and status reports
• Prepare schedule for execution of test cases
• Monitor the test case execution
• Communicate with Development and Services Teams on any issue clarifications
• Perform Functional and Regression Testing of the Application to check its stability
• Identify dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality
• Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the organization
• Track and prepare the report of testing activities
• Understand the testing effort by analyzing the requirements of project, while identifying and mitigating risks
• Complete deliverables within deadlines and with high quality results
• Work independently and as part of a team to achieve corporate targets and initiatives
• Build and cultivate strong client relationships, resolving customer issues in a timely and responsive manner
• Participate in design, defect meetings and blue sky sessions

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or other technical discipline
• Direct knowledge of QA methodologies, preferably with certifications such as ISTQB
• Accounting/Finance experience an asset
• Ability to create test scripts using c# code
• Ability to create a testing framework from scratch
• Experience in creating an automation framework using Jenkins and Bitbucket
• Knowledge of OLAP building concepts, RDBMS, Microsoft Analysis Services is an asset
• Knowledge of financial software as well as testing excel plugin applications
• Experience working with SQL, and MDX queries.
• Experience working with both hand on/hands off QA management
• Experience with Selenium, and other open source tools is a plus
• Experience with Jira/Confluence

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistency of company brand
• Work with executive team to explore strategic objectives

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Marketing specialist role
• Previous experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and corporate performance management software or similar is a strong asset
• Self-driven individual that will thrive in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, flexible team environment
• Avid contributor of new points of view to the business and industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

• A general understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Knowledge of OLAP building concepts, RDBMS, Microsoft Analysis Services is an asset
